Brightstar and Skinit Partner to Deliver Phone Personalization Programs to the Wireless Industry
Skinit personalization platform for wireless carriers, handset manufacturers, and retailers to be offered via Brightstar's global distribution and supply chain solutions organization.
Skinit Inc, the leading provider of personalization solutions and removable skin products for consumer electronics devices, today announced they have partnered with Brightstar, the world's largest wireless distribution and supply chain solutions company, to deliver the Skinit personalization platform to Brightstar customers worldwide.
Skinit currently provides their personalization products to a majority of U.S. carriers and many leading mobile phone manufacturers. The companies plan to work together to facilitate the expansion of "Skins" into Latin America, Europe and Asia. Skinit / Brighstar personalization programs will include OEM (in-box), retail and Internet distribution. These programs will leverage the largest selection of brands and original art, supported devices, exclusive materials, and the most advanced ordering and on-demand manufacturing system available.
"Mobile phone personalization is a hot trend that is likely to continue for some time," said Marcelo Claure, CEO of Brightstar. "Consumers are increasingly looking to add something unique and different to their phone in order to make a statement, impress their friends or just have fun. We are excited to bring the Skinit personalization platform to our international customers and believe that Brightstar is uniquely positioned to enable innovative companies like Skinit to quickly ramp sales and manage logistics on a global basis."
Skinit currently powers more best-of-breed personalization programs than any other industry player for companies such as Verizon Wireless, Sprint Nextel, T-Mobile, Dell, Medtronic, HP and many others. Future Skinit / Brightstar product offerings will include Skinit's proprietary removable graphics Skins, Skinit Fabric Skins and Skinit Bling Skins for over 1000 industry devices.
Customers can choose removable skins decorated with major sports teams, colleges, entertainment, fashion designs as well as the ability to upload photographs. Skins provide an easy and low-cost way for carriers and handset manufacturers to capture new customers, differentiate and promote phones, and increase wireless activations and product sales - including helping to liquidate slow-moving SKU's.
"Skinit is looking forward to rapid expansion with Brightstar," said Paul Buss, CEO for Skinit. "The Skinit turnkey personalization platform is the most advanced in the industry and can be quickly transferred to multiple regions and includes IT infrastructure for order processing, on demand manufacturing, global material supply chain, fulfillment and customer service - all supporting the highest quality removable personalization products available."
The Skinit product offerings will be showcased at Skinit's booth # 175 Hall A as well as featured in the Fashion-in-Motion shows at CTIA 2007, Orlando, FL March 27-29 2007.
